Formed in 1990 out of Australian architectural practice Team 3 along with two Malaysian directors, Pentago is a boutique landscape and architectural firm with a flair for bringing intuition into each and every aspect of their design
Pentago is known for our signature modern tropical ‘inside-out’ approach that melds together the realms of the natural landscape with architectural design and have over the years quite literally changed the face of the earth in the name of practical, natural and holistic living.
Our recognisable style has evolved in time to go beyond borders, surpassing the barriers of tongue and creed in its relevance to intuitive design and has gained international recognition with projects all over Asia, Oceania and the Middle East.
Greg Dall, the passionately commited Australian designer, together with Wendy Khaw, the charismatic Malaysian landscape architect make up the well known duo that are widely responsible for the story of Pentago as it stands today. These two characters are Pentago’s principal directors and have sailed through storms of uncertainty and shared in its moments, refining their practice with conviction into a modern success story.
Pentago’s main office is based in Kuala Lumpur, the heart of Asia, where they have built their practice for over 20 years alongside their families. Their multicultural staff work together in a down-to-earth and family-orientated environment, supporting and building one another in character as they work towards quality design that is both personal and practical.
The Pentago Story
Greg is both the Managing Director and one of the founding members of the Pentago Group of Companies. He is originally from Australian but considers Malaysia his home after having lived in Malaysia since 1980.
He is a graduate of the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor's degree in Architecture (Hons) and is a registered member of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) and a Council Member for the Building Committee of the MABC -Malaysian Australian Business Council.
Whilst his background is in architecture, Greg has blurred the concept of extending tropical design influences and landscape architecture over the past 40 years to create ‘Inside Out Design’. This starts with strategic vision on land development, then leads with site relevant architectural concepts that bring the landscape into buildings, and then develops interiors that blur the boundaries and engage with the landscape beyond.
Greg provides input to both creative design direction, design reviews and project implementation across all projects in the Pentago Group.
In his role as Managing Director, he provides strategic guidance for the Pentago Group to ensure the companies remain strong and stable, and continue to deliver outstanding projects.
He continues to enjoy discovering new challenges and designs that respond to the evolving patterns of contemporary living.
