Pentago were the Landscape Architects for the Phase 1 Core Area and were involved from concept design through to detail implementation works for the Adventure Water Park, clubhouse facilities for both the Ocean and Valley golf courses, riverside retail village, Hard Rock Hotel, Westin Hotel and Conference Center. For the adventure water park, Pentago worked with creative theme park designers to develop a landscape identity to enhance the attractions.

The water park has state of the art rides and water play equipment from Proslide and Mac Rides, and will have Southeast Asia’s largest wave pool. The detail landscape includes all the hard scape elements and an extensive man made beach adjacent to the wave pool.

The design also accommodates the safe movement of large amounts of people with the minimum maintenance of landscape materials and plants, concentrating on the edge treatments between land edges and water bodies.

The Impiana Private Villas are an extension of an existing line of the hotels by Impiana Group. Pentago was commissioned to design eight luxury villas located off the coast of Kata Noi, Phuket that were both for the owner’s private use and for the exclusive use of the hotel’s VIP guests.
The villas were built on the existing solid rock of the coast to maximise the scenic view and privacy. Up to two- thirds of the existing landscape was utilised to hide the building inside the hill-face. In using natural materials such as rock and stone, the villas blended into the coast and became very much part of the scenery. Each suite was placed on the hillside with its own pool and private view of the ocean, retaining an air of exclusivity despite the compact site.

Pentago were employed as the architects and landscape architects on this 70 key urban resort hotel in the tourist centre of Goa. The site was occupied by several 1950 apartment blocks which had to be incorporated into the overall master plan and design along adding a further complication to what was already a challenging project. The hotel was designed in the spirit of fun, leisure and hedonistic relaxation, with the target client group being young party and beach goers. The rooms were purposely kept small to encourage the guests to congregate in the 3 bars and restaurants as well as the resort swimming pool and external facilities. It was basically designed as ‘party central’.

Located on the banks of the Hooghly River, a famous historical river which is a major tributary of the Ganges River. This was an exciting site as it bordered the river for a distance of 100 meters and we had the opportunity of adding a private boat jetty next to all the recreational facilities and swimming pools. The guests could take the hotel private boat direct to Kolkata city centre. The completed design was contemporary and modern using `off form’ concrete and exposed `core ten’ steel to resist the harsh climate and environmental conditions experienced at this location.

The Westin Resort in Langkawi, Malaysia, is part of Starwood Hotels and Resort's largest high-end hotel and resorts brand. Its international reputation boasts for a contemporary, trendy environment among its two hundred rooms and suites, as well as its twenty private ocean view pool villas.

Pentago was involved in creating a new landscape for the renovation and upgrading works of the resort. Utilising the existing viewlines and natural landscape, the landscape team maximised the space available to look into the ocean, creating water-to-water views with the use of terraced gardens and Buchida trees, which, when planted in groups, do not hinder the viewline. A low retaining wall was implemented on the cliff face to give access of the ocean view to different levels of the complex.

Intimate gardens grace the inner sanctums of th emany private villas and guest facilities, which also include private and outdoor spas. The use of local kampung plants such as lemongrass and pandan created an enveloping sensual scent, adding to the resort experience.

The resort also features an infinity edge pool and bar which again captures the stunning tropical sunset view of its prime location.

Located right on the diving site of Sipadan Island, Lepa-Lepa is an ultra high end resort that sits entirely on the surface of the ocean. The term 'Lepa-Lepa' describes the prow of the boats used by the Bayan people signifying the strength and status of the occupant. It is aptly named so as the indigenous Bayan live their whole lives on the waters around Sempurna, from birth to death on their boats.

The landscape, provided by Pentago, lies completely above the ocean. This floating paradise shares a symbiotic relationship with its crystal clear waters. Its pristine environment is an asset and, as such, is well protected, with the resort having little to no impact on it. Every drop of rainwater that lands here is used and reutilised with state of the art recycling systems and technology. The resort is self sustaining. Its dive centre is host to a school for marine research with donations going to local dive and environmental societies. Marina berths, large enough for mega yachts do not impact on the sand, and the sand piling does not affect the heritage coals.

The philosophy of Lepa-Lepa is a message that is close to Pentago's own heart, that is, making environmental friendly developments a viable prospect.

Located off the coast of Johor, with the towers of Singapore visible in the distance, Sebana Cove is a resort development housed in a natural tropical setting.

Pentago was invited to design the master plan and landscape of the initial site and worked closely with GDP Architects and Ted Parslow, who designed the eighteen-hole golf course.

The resort incorporates a substantial clubhouse and two equally large lagoon pools. Existing and transplanted oil palms, which were readily available and grew well in the swampland became a signature for the resort.

Locally obtained quarry rocks used in the detailing of the landscape proved to be very economical and practical, giving a local flavour, and yet an elegant outcome.

Much research was done on all of the many tribes in Sarawak and incorporated into motifs of the landscape. Local statues, art and carvings were carefully placed throughout the resort, with the main lobby sporting pairs of welcoming Bedayu, Melanau, Dayak & Kadazan dancing sculptures.
